A Message From The Artist

“The HorrorShow EP started out as 5 songs that I had originally written and recorded back in 2015. I was in recording school and I needed material to practice recording and mixing music that I enjoyed, so naturally I just made my own. I used riffs and ideas that I had written in years prior, so my inspiration for the sound comes from 4-5 years of listening to an array of different genres and bands. I tried to mash my favorite elements of Punk, Post Hardcore, Death and Prog Metal, with the dark lyrics and upbeat feel of Horror Punk.

I had no intention of ever releasing the songs, but at the end of 2020 while on a solo cross country motorcycle trip, I decided it was absurd not to release songs that I was so fond of. I re-recorded almost everything and made some appropriate updates- I’ve come quite a long way in my craft since I last touched these sessions. Aside from the campy and cheesy lyrics based on my favorite B Horror Movies, I guess the underlying theme for me is about finishing what you started solely because it’s something you love. I hope you enjoy it as much as I enjoyed creating it.”

More About the Album

The HorrorShow EP fuses catchy and melodic punk influences ranging from horror punk to pop punk. This is fused with influences drawn from the realm of post-hardcore. Thrown into this mix are unexpected death metal and progressive metal elements that give the album a unique edge and complexity.

It isn’t every day that you come across an album that fuses such vastly varied elements and yet simultaneously feels cohesive and fun. The HorrorShow EP has managed to achieve this without even setting out to do so.

As stated by Jordan Stoffel the tracks on this album were born simply out of him fusing genre influences and lyrical themes that he found enjoyable. This sense of authentic enjoyment carries across into the music itself and really gives it that fun and genuine energy that we’ve all come to know and love from horror punk.

The release couldn’t have been timed better being set to drop a week before Halloween. The album’s B horror movie inspired lyrics make it the perfect album to blast during the spooky season. It’s an album that doesn’t take itself too seriously. This is a trait that we need more of in a world that has been considerably more serious and joyless this past year and a half.

So, dive in today and experience what The HorrorShow EP has to offer. I guarantee that the very least you will be pleasantly surprised and entertained. At best you may have found your new Halloween soundtrack.
